Lifetime Fashions a Project Runway Suit
Lifetime isn't going to just sit and watch Project Runway pass it by.
The female-favoring cable network has filed suit against Bravo parent NBC Universal, which in September successfully blocked Lifetime from going ahead with its planned winter premiere of the Peabody-winning competition series.
Now, of all the fashion faux pas, it's looking as if the show's sixth season won't begin until summer 2009, despite the fact that the entire Los Angeles-set cycle, minus two episodes, has already been shot.

Jennifer Garner Tries to Keep Away Alleged Stalker
Jennifer Garner could really use an alias about now.
The actress has obtained a temporary restraining order against a 36-year-old fan she claims has been stalking her since at least 2002, E! News has learned.
In her protection order dated Nov. 7, Garner claims Steven Burky—described as 6-foot-1, 145 pounds, and blond with blue eyes—engaged in "obsessive and harassing behavior" that included sending her "packages and letters containing delusional and paranoid thoughts and following me around the country."
"Smitten Fan's" Ledger-Drug Suit Gets Go-Ahead
A freelancer's decision to hang with Heath Ledger, rather than report on him, has earned her the right to sue with him in mind.
A Los Angeles judge on Monday greenlighted a revised lawsuit brought by an unidentified woman who claims that she was caught on tape by two paparazzi as they secretly shot Ledger.
"She was acting like a star-struck fan rather than as a celebrity reporter," L.A. Superior Court Judge John Shepard Wiley said in his ruling. "This is real Hollywood socializing."
Getting to meet Ledger was, for the plaintiff, a "smitten fan's dream come true. She's going to hang out with a movie star like any other fan of this star might think was a good thing to do."
Suge Knight Rapped With Charges in Vegas
What happens in Las Vegas stays there—and what goes around comes around.
Marion "Suge" Knight was charged Tuesday with two felony counts of drug possession and one count of misdemeanor battery stemming from his August arrest for allegedly smacking his girlfriend around on a public street.
The former Death Row Records honcho was busted Aug. 27 in Sin City after police received a call about an out-of-control car on the Vegas Strip and arrived at the scene to find Knight chasing after the alleged victim, Melissa Isaac, and brandishing a knife.
Michael's Mystery MaladyJacko Sicko of Court?
Michael Jackson is hoping a doctor's note can get him out of his latest lawsuit.
An attorney for the pop star, currently embroiled in a $7 million breach-of-contract trial in London after a Bahrain sheik accused him of failing to make good on the terms of an exclusive recording contract, told the court today Jackson would likely be unable to make it across the pond to offer testimony due to an undisclosed illness.
"On a best-case prognosis, it would be unwise for him to travel, given what he's got now," attorney Robert Englehart said in London's High Court. He refused to elaborate further "for the obvious reasons," but said the singer was waiting on test results.
While Englehart offered that Jackson instead testify via video link from the U.S., attorneys for Sheik Abdulla Bin Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa had another suggestion: Get the star "bandaged up" and get him on a plane.
Mea Culpa's in the Mail Over Duchovny Affair Story
David Duchovny's lawyer answered the phone and it was London calling—with an apology.
Britain's Daily Mail on Monday printed a retraction and apologized for an Oct. 19 article which claimed the Californication star had carried on an adulterous relationship with a tennis instructor, a woman who duly denied being any more than friends with the actor.
"On October 19, an article about actor David Duchovny may have suggested he had an amorous relationship with a tennis coach, Edit Pakay," read the statement in today's print and online editions.
"We now accept this is inaccurate and Ms. Pakay and Mr. Duchovny are only friends who used to play tennis occasionally. Their relationship went no further and was not a factor in Mr. and Mrs. Duchovny's separation. We apologize to Ms. Pakay, Mr. Duchovny and to Mr. Duchovny's family."
Prince Spritzed With Fragrance Suit
The makers of 3121 are none too happy with Prince's performance.
Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. has sued the artist and Universal Music Publishing Group for $100,000, claiming Prince and his record company failed to help peddle a scent inspired by his 2006 album 3121.
Per the lawsuit filed Monday in New York State Supreme Court, Revelations licensed Prince's name and likeness to create two fragrances—3121, which came out last year, and another due in 2009.

Locklear Finally Charged in Traffic Stop
Looks like the "concerned citizen" who ratted out Heather Locklear for driving erratically last September may have been justified.
The Santa Barbara District Attorney's Office has confirmed that, after a lengthy investigation, the former Melrose Place star has been formally charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs stemming from her Sept. 27 roadside arrest. (View the complaint.)
"It was prescription medications only...For privacy reasons I cannot say which prescriptions they were," Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter tells E! News, adding that there were "no alcohol or illegal narcotics of any kind" in Locklear's system at the time of her bust.
Khloe Kardashian in the Clear
It's a wrap for Khloe Kardashian.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has finished her probation to-do list stemming from her 2007 DUI arrest, which included attending an alcohol-treatment class and visiting a local morgue.
"Khloe has completed all court-ordered requirements," attorney Shawn Chapman Holley told E! News after Kardashian appeared for a progress report today in a Van Nuys courtroom. "She successfully completed the alcohol program and the HAM [hospital and morgue] program. She's a superstar!"
A Bachelor Babe Busted
Wow, that Mary Delgado really is a catch.
The winner of ABC's The Bachelor was busted late Saturday after allegedly getting into a drunken row at a nightspot in Del Rio, Texas, and then tussling with cops.
Mark Scott, warden for Del Rio's Val Verde Correctional Facility, tells E! News that Delgado refused to leave Lorina's Cantina after being asked by managers. The police were called, and she was initially arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
She earned an extra charge of resisting arrest, Scott says, after she allegedly started screaming at officers in the squad car and kicked the radio.
With the help of her Bachelor rose-bestowing partner, Byron Velvick, Delgado posted bail and was released a few hours later.
The Case of the Missing Michael Jackson Music
On the down side, Michael Jackson has been sued yet again. On the plus side, the suit has absolutely nothing to do with underage children.
The son of the king of Bahrain, or as his closest friends refer to him, Sheik Abdulla Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, has filed a $7 million breach-of-contract suit against the pop star, claiming Jackson reneged on an exclusive recording contract.
In his lawsuit, which will be heard in London court later today, the sheik claims he paid Jackson more than $7 million as an advance on two albums, a stage show and a planned autobiography, built him a recording studio and gave him a Rolls-Royce worth roughly $275,000.
However, while Jackson was more than willing to accept the funds, the royal said that when the time came to actually record the promised music, Jackson, well, beat it.
Ex Guns N' Roses Drummer Cops Plea
All it takes is patience…and a smart lawyer for Steven Adler.
The original drummer for Guns N' Roses will likely avoid jail time after pleading no contest on Friday to felony drug possession charges stemming from a July arrest.
A Los Angeles judge ordered Adler, 43, to return to court Dec. 12, where it's expected he will be sentenced to rehab.
Adler was arrested in July in Hollywood after someone complained that he was causing a disturbance. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of being under the influence, but the DA's office says that charge will likely be dismissed if Adler is admitted to the treatment program.
